A Wine Women And Philosophy Weekend: What Does It Look Like?

wwp weekends take place at The Nurtury, which is situated in the beautiful Lower Laurentian countryside.  They are held throughout the year.  Each weekend is carefully planned and delivered by an experienced practitioner and ourselves.  Together, the three of us are your weekend salonnières, committed to sharing our passion for a particular activity or educational field with you and other like-interested women.

Imagine! An educational experience that includes wine, food and conversation in a convivial setting.


Each wwp weekend starts in our replica fin-de-siècle Parisian salon on Friday evening with a welcome meal and film night, and finishes with a wrap-up brunch on Sunday afternoon. Activity sessions of two to three hours are interspersed with a variety of epicurean pleasures. For example, after your morning session on Saturday we provide you with a picnic lunch that you can either take into the forest, carry down to the lakeside, or enjoy in our sunroom.

After a stimulating afternoon of activity with your salonnières, your Saturday evening kicks off with a wine tasting session.  Here, we invite you to discover a couple of exciting but affordable wines that you will probably want to take note of so as to introduce them into your life back home.  Then it's on to a delicious evening meal prepared in our gourmet kitchen - providing you with the perfect opportunity to talk over the day's events with other participants and to get to know each other better.

As for Sunday morning, you start your day - as you did on Saturday morning - with a self-serve continental breakfast.  The group then comes together for the last activity session.  Over a buffet brunch that begins at 1:30pm, you'll have the chance to reflect on your weekend experience and share your insights with others before heading home in time to beat the traffic.

Our spa for the mind is an easy drive from Montreal and Ottawa

If you live in either the Montreal or Ottawa region, a key advantage of our educational weekends away is that getting to us is easy.  Located just off route 329 North in Lakefield, Gore, we're only one hour from Montreal and 90 minutes from Ottawa, and all on major routes. That said, once you arrive at our wooded lakeside estate you feel like you are nestled in the heart of the Laurentians.
